If you're considering signing your player up for the Capitals Inline Hockey League (CIHL) - Richmond Renegades, we wanted to give you a quick rundown of what to expect!
What is the CIHL?
The Capitals Inline Hockey League (CIHL) is an exciting new “regional travel” league that’s part of the Washington Capitals Youth Hockey Program, now in its second season. The CIHL is designed to offer kids a great mix of competitive play and skill-building, while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. It’s a fun and unique opportunity for your player to play inline hockey with other players from around the region.
Time & Travel Commitment
2024-2025 CIHL SEASON = November 23rd and ends February 23rd. The Rattlers' season will be complete!
Your player will typically only attend ONE day of each Tournament.
Tournaments:
There are SIX (6) tournaments throughout the season.
A Tournament is over Saturday/Sunday. We do not have the official breakdown of days and times but here is an example of what to expect.
You will be given a schedule with details like:
Saturday November 23rd 10:00AM - 12:20PM Elementary Division, 1:10pm-4:30pm Middle School Division ••• Sunday November 24th 10:00am-12:20pm High School Division.
Your player will typically only attend ONE day unless they are playing for more than one team (meaning: they play both elementary and middle or middle and high).
Each team will play TWO (2) games at each tournament during their timeframe.
Note: There may be weather related delays once you arrive. Full cancel rain/snow makeup dates have been worked into the schedule.
Practices: Renegades Practices are held on Tuesdays (Lower) or Thursdays (Upper) from 6-8p, so if your player is already practicing with the Rattlers, you're all set for practices!
Commitment: Players are expected to attend 5 out of the 6 tournaments, so we ask that you plan ahead for those weekends.
Cost: CIHL requires a registration fee to participate in the league ranging from $75-$200. We are working on sponsorships to help keep this at its lowest rate and also cover the required custom jerseys and pants.
Eligibility: If your player actively participated this season or last season, they are eligible to join!
If you have any questions, feel free to email us at rvarhl@gmail.com or come see us on Sunday for more information.
We're excited for another great season of Capitals Inline Hockey with the Richmond Renegades and hope to see your player on the team!
Thank you to our 2023-2024 CIHL Renegades Sponsors!
